Getting your book published is not an easy task as Mahaffey explains. Having contacted over 100 agents, Mahaffey kept looking until she found just the right one for her. While many aspiring authors fantasize about writing a novel then retiring for life, Mahaffey explains that she has been working full time during her writing of this book.

Publishing Sounds Like Crazy began with Mahaffey networking with other authors that had already been published in the real world. This real world networking gave Mahaffey many sources of knowledge and resources she otherwise would not have had. Mahaffey simply hooked up with a local writers’ group and the profession of her main character in the book even came from one of those group members.
