Hard hitting Oakland Raider Jack Tatum died this morning of an apparent heart attack. After suffering for years from diabetes, Tatum lost all five toes on his left foot and his right leg was amputated.
Tatum’s health toward the end of his life was a stark contrast from his years as a Raider safety where he earned the nickname “The Assassin.” Tatum was a big hot on Youtube and became famous for some of his big hits.
Recently, a new Raider named Mike Mitchell used Tatum’s legacy to help him land a spot on the team. Claiming that Tatum was his idol and he wanted to hit just like him, Mitchell, the Ohio University graduate, earned himself a position on the Raiders’ special teams by emulating Tatum’s hits.
