Food Network’s Alton Brown – Good Eats, Bad Host?
Ever watch Good Eats on the Food Network with Alton Brown? If you answered no, that’s a good thing–you aren’t missing anything. What is up with this guy? Does he own the network or something?
Every time I flip past the Food Network and he’s on it’s like a bad car accident–you hate to but you can’t help from looking. It reminds me of one those bad public access shows we used to watch back in high school. Since it was school, watching those shows was exactly one notch above watching paint dry. And those close-ups. Isn’t he aware of how painful those close-ups of his face are to the audience? It doesn’t even rate above a boring science show…it’s just bad…real bad.
So the next time you’re flipping channels and see something that resembles a deadly train wreck, keep on surfing. It’s just Alton Brown’s Good Eats, bad host.

How stupid are you? The guy’s a food genius, with incredible knowledge of history, chemistry, science, and to top it off, a great sense of humor, which really helps you remember the pertinent information.
I guess my point was that Alton Brown just doesn’t do much for me. I don’t find him that entertaining and can’t understand why the food network keeps him around. I find him pretty annoying actually.
I agree. I think he’s one or 2 notches below a sharp stick in the eye…
