President Obama Authorizes Limited Military Action in Libya

The President announces that he has authorized the United States military to commence a limited military action as part of an internal effort to protect Libyan citizens after Muammar Qaddafi refused to pursue an immediate cease-fire. The President made his remarks in Brasilia, Brazil during his tour of Latin America. March 19, 2011.
